October was a super busy month for us in the burbs. The first signs of fall brings fun activities like pumpkin patches, Halloween parties and our anniversary! If you can believe it, I heavily edited the number of pictures on this post. Caroline is my photography inspiration and I went a little crazy on the number of pictures I took. Although Halloween night I only took a couple (completely uncharacteristic of me!).
Caroline has developed a "baby" phase where she wants to be the baby. She asks me to carry her in our baby backpack and wants to be held like a baby and rocked before bed. Neither Reagan nor I mind though because it's so rare that she is still enough for us to cuddle with her. Below we are making faces in the mirror. That's her "scared" face!
Earlier this month Sarah joined us for a trip to the zoo. It's so nice to call my sister in the morning to make plans together for that day. I love having her close by!

We took her to the pumpkin patch by our house. She ran around looking at pumpkins the entire time. It was hard getting a good picture of her because she wouldn't sit still. As we were leaving a family of 3 daughters in matching outfits arrived to take family pictures with the pumpkins. As their mom was positioning them for their picture C came up along side of them and started posing herself for their photo! It made me laugh! We had been trying to get a picture of her sitting with the pumpkins the whole time and she wouldn't sit still but she happily posed for their family photo! Silly girl!

Uncle Justin came for a weekend visit. He joined C and I to a trip to the pumpkin patch with our play-group. There is a mom in our group that went to school with Justin from Kindergarten to High School! Small world!

Falling down in the bounce house. C picked out her own costume this year. I was certain she was going to pick out a Buzz or Woody costume but when she saw the princess dresses she got so excited. I was pretty excited my little girl wanted to be a girly-girl!

We hosted our neighborhood Halloween party this year. The kids looked so cute and the moms looked pretty cute too. We all dressed up! As we were getting dressed for the party C yelled, "No princess! I witch!" We compromised by dressing her in her pirate costume from last year.
Also this month I was elected onto our neighborhood HOA board. I'm not certain what my role will be yet but I'm excited (and a little nervous because I'm not sure what to expect) .

Caroline and her bestie. I love this picture because it illustrated their little personalities! Sam's eyeballing C to ensure she isn't breaking the rules and C is carefree! These two love each other every much and their personalities complement. C is daring and outgoing and Sam is peaceful and grounded. They squeal, hug and giggle every time they see each other!
Sam (who doesn't like bows or other things in her hair) let us put C's crown on. Her mom use to be a party planner and dress like a princess for birthday parties was super excited her daughter wanted to don princess gear!
As I mentioned earlier I didn't take many pictures on Halloween night. My sister and her family, Reagan's parents and Sam's family along with her Papa came over for chili and trick or treating. Sam's family is currently undergoing a big home renovation and are staying at a hotel for a few nights. Since they were homeless for the night we had time over!
This is the girls right before we left for trick-or-treating! Once again their little personalities shined as they were trick-or-treating. C confidently knocked on the doors, loudly said "trick or treat" and would usually start reaching her hand into the candy bowls. Sam had a completely different approach. She calmly waited her turn and sweetly held out her sack waiting for her candy. These to are precious to me!

That concludes Halloween and now let's back up and review our anniversary. Nana took C earlier in the afternoon to her church's Halloween party. The plan was we'd clean out our shed, shower and have a nice steak dinner. While at dinner we had our reoccurring conversation that Reagan doesn't like to wear his wedding ring. He isn't a jewelry guy and even after six years he hasn't gotten use to it. I had my usual response of you don't have to wear a ring if you get a tattoo on your ring finger. It's been a joke in our marriage because Reagan is soooo not a tattoo guy. Well, one thing lead to another and we found ourselves at the tattoo parlor!! That's right, we both got tattoos!! I'm still in shock. R got a tiny infinity symbol on his left ring finger and I got the same symbol on the back of my wrist. We'll never forget this anniversary that's for certain!
